Today, I would like to discuss about a very important aspect of our life – wellness. For last few years I was in a rat race to earn well. But the impact of this was observed on my health physical and mental. Last few months I am suffering from Lower back pain and a bit of mental stress. After showing the back pain to orthopedic doctors, took Vitamin D and B12 tablets for 2 months. Now the vitamin levels are fine but back pain is still there. I have got this back pain due to my sedentary life style – sitting for 8-10 hours per day for last 7-8 years and working on laptop without much physical exercise. MRI scan showed slip disk and loss of lumbar lordosis (S – shaped spine losing its shape) due to inflammation in the nearby muscles. I asked orthopedic doctor, how I can fix this? The answer shocked me – “you have to live with this. And whenever you feel more pain, just come and take some medicine”. The above answer shocked me to the core – and I went into deep thinking about how to get rid of the issue.

My wife suggessted me to visit SVYASA Arogyadhama (https://maps.app.goo.gl/pToc3yunxY5K3w2p6). I contacted them over phone and got basic information like – 7 days residential stay, fees (Rs. 12000/-), Ayurvedic treatments extra Rs. 5000/-. SVYASA is one of the oldest Yoga university in India. It is near Bangalore and has a beautiful green campus.

The overall approach to wellness is multidimensional. The focus is on – Mind, Body and Soul. They have developed few techniques to help bring positivity in all of the above. I have pasted the daily schedule of a participant. The techniques used are – Meditation, Pranayama, Healthy diet, Special technique for the issue, MSRT (mind sound resonance), Trataka, Bhajan/Spiritual shlokas.

Overall after 1 week, I really had a great feeling. I feel more positive that if I follow the techniques taught, I will be able to get rid of the back pain issue and will live a more better and balanced life. People come with many different problems like – depression, diabetes, shoulder/neck/back/leg pain, digestive issues, etc. They stay for 2 weeks to 1 month and see considerable improvement in their issue. Also, many people come for positive health (to learn good way to live life).
